We had a night in the City of Lights for the launch of Givenchy’s new L’Intense Very Irresistible fragrance, which is a bit more rock and roll than the original and in keeping with the gritty edge that designer Ricardo Tisci has injected into the fashion side of the label. Liv Tyler, the face of the fragrance, was there too to unveil the new juice which is a fruity musk. Prop of the night includes these tattoo transfers which mimic the pattern on the new bottle. Rock, and spritz on.

It appears that one of the photos for the campaign was make-up and hairstyling free. From ContactMusic:

The stunning actress appears make-up free with unstyled hair in the campaign for the fashion house’s new scent, Very Irresistible Givenchy L’Intense, and says she loved the opportunity to be seen completely natural.
She said: “There’s something quite raw about it. I feel unafraid of exposing myself and the woman I am today – complicated and interesting and intense.”

Very Irresistible L’Intense should be in stores March 14, 2011.

Liv Tyler attended the G-Star Fall 2010 fashion show during the NY Fashion Week, last night in New York. Bebe Buell, Liv Tyler’s mother, joined her daughter to this event. Rumor has it Mia Tyler would also join, but apparently she was caught up at another event at the same time.

“Any favorite beauty products?” I asked.

“A lot of favorite products!” she said excitedly. Then, took a moment to try and think of some. “Um, Givenchy?” she offered with a laugh. “You know what I really love? The old cool Rosebud lip balm.” We’re not surpised. Rosebud Salve is a huge celeb favorite.

Finally, we asked the stylish star – who, we learned, has been friends with Kate Moss since she was about 14 – which of her parents influenced her style more. (For the record, dad Steven Tyler is the lead singer of Aerosmith, and mom Bebe Buell was a model.)

“Both of them pretty equally,” Tyler said. “Looking at old images of them when they were younger, and now even, they’re both really brave and wear what they like and I like that. They’re not really following any trends of any kind.”

Liv hosted a launch party to celebrate the opening of Stella McCartney for GapKids pop-up store, yesterday in LA.

Tyler acknowledged that when it comes to picking children’s fashion, “it’s probably what the parents like best.” Her Stella McCartney for GapKids favorites? “The Sergeant Pepper jacket and the sweater with the tiger on it – it’s kind of a famous Stella piece,” she said. (It’s actually a leopard.)Instead, Tyler settled on a plaid shirt and skinny gray jeans for son Milo. “It’s great to have cool, chic kids clothes that are affordable,” said Tyler. “Especially with boys, they just destroy things.”

Tyler adds that she’s in L.A. to film a new superhero comedy called “Super” with Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page next week. And she admits not tuning in to “The Rachel Zoe Project,” where she had a guest appearance last season.

“I can’t watch myself on TV,” cooed the actress. “I watched a few episodes before I did mine and I got really upset because I didn’t understand Taylor [Jacobson] and Brad [Goreski]. They were so different from how I knew them. Taylor is really nice. Brad is so smart and lovely. I was really confused by how they were on the show.”

The collection, for spring/summer 2010, was designed by Christopher Bailey, the Yorkshireman who has helped turn Burberry into a luxury status brand.

Burberry joined the FTSE 100 at the beginning of September and is worth two billion pounds. This was its first catwalk show it London Fashion Week since Bailey joined the company eight years ago.

Its switch to home territory from Milan Fashion Week where its shows are normally staged, was specially timed to mark the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week and it sparked off a wave of designer comebacks which have made the event the most celebrated in a quarter century.

Bailey created a poetic catwalk spectacle in balletic shades of pale-rose, lilac, celadon, beige and gold.

He transformed Burberry’s traditional trench-coat – once worn in World War 1 – into a puffed-sleeve, thigh-skimming mini, in sugar-pink satin and shimmering crystals, but kept a nod to the brand’s military origins by cinching the waist with webbing or cavalry belts.

Silk chiffon and gauze were ‘reef-knotted’ into the briefest of micro-skirts, and paired with cashmere sweaters, criss-crossed with matching straps in the manner of an army rucksack.

Rose-beige and lilac, feathered leather coats came with ruched, skintight leggings or silk trousers, rolled up to show pastel socks with strappy cone-heeled platfoprm sandals or high-heeled ‘combat’ boots.

“It was very chic’ a wonderful; re-invention of the look,” said Lord Mandelson, who was attending his first fashion show in Britain.

“London is where it’s at. It inspires the world.” said Gwyneth Paltrow.

“This is a great night for London,” said Anna Wintour.

Liv Tyler at the Time 100 Gala

 

Okay, I read that people hated it. On the otherhand,  she was voted the Instyle look of the day. I must disagree with the naysayers because I really effing LOVED it. But I guess I’m a bit biased – as I love Liz and I loove Stella McCartney and I love fashion that can be a bit “out there” and different. I’ve been a little tired of the same gaping necklines and draped fabrics which have been seen over and over again at every gala or on Nicole Richie for the last x-amount of years. It seems that popular stylist Rachel Zoe is manufacturing  “celebrity” style on  each and every one of her clients. But that’s for another article…

At the Time 100 Most influential people celebration in New York City, Liv Tyler was the bell of the ball. Stella and Liv took the “little black dress” to all new heights with the Illusion dress. A short black lace ensemble that had fashion critics buzzing about.
