Sources tell Shock that Dominic Cooper (Captain America) and Liv Tyler (The Strangers) are circling lead roles in The Cure.Dennis Iliadis (The Last House on the Left) was attached to the thriller in 2009. Groundswell has been developing the script by Beau Thorne and producers Michael London, Janice Williams, Brian Witten and Michael Connolly.

Cooper would play Jeff, a man, desperate to cure his dying wife, Mary (Tyler), who gives her over to a strange doctor for an unconventional form of treatment. This cure ultimately turns her into a blood-craving killer.

Iliadis is also slated to direct Pay the Ghost for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and The Demonologists over at Silver Pictures.

The Strangers 2 will be produced by Ryan Kavanaugh from Relativity, Vertigo’s Roy Lee and Doug Davison, and Nathan Kahane from Mandate. Tucker Tooley from Relativity, Joe Drake from Mandate, Sonny Mahli from Vertigo and Trevor Macy and Marc Evans from Intrepid are all on-board to act as executive producers. Laurent Briet is tapped to direct from a script by Bryan Bertino, who wrote and directed the original.

Filming will begin this fall, and it reportedly takes place in a trailer park. Liv Tyler may be returning for the opening scene (and we all know what that means). The film is going to be a follow-up to the first film, which shows a couple being terrorized by three mysterious masked strangers at a remote cabin.

William Gibson’s seminal 80s SF thriller has been green-lit more often than a black cab, and it’s anyone’s guess as to whether the latest attempt by Joseph Kahn will actually make it to the big screen. Hayden Christensen is attached as the lead. Peter Hoffman, who has a credit as ‘presenter’ in the not-so-successful 1995 adaptation of Gibson’s Johnny Mnemonic, is producing, with a budget currently reported at $70 million. Liv Tyler is also rumoured to be attached. Neuromancer deals with a disgraced hacker who has been physically disabled from interfacing with any computers in the future society he lives in. He’s rescued by a mysterious Samurai benefactor who temporarily cures his disability but implants him with Escape From New York-style ‘poison sacs’ before sending him on a new mission (Gibson has talked about how Neuromancer sprang off from some early lines in John Carpenter’s 1980 SF-thriller).

“Marisa Tomei, Liv Tyler to Star in 301/302 Remake”

Marisa Tomei and Liv Tyler are on board to star in the remake of 1995′s 301/302, a psychological thriller about the relationship between two neighbors in a loft building, according to Variety. Helmed once again by South Korean director Chul-soo Park, the movie will be renamed as 10A/10B and the script will be adapted from the original South Korean screenplay. The original film was centered around two women that lived in the same apartment building and had different approaches to dealing with life, one seeking refuge in love, sex and spending money, while the other one lives in self-imposed poverty.

The new film, which is set to begin filming in June, will explore the relationship between a culinary perfectionist (Tyler), a failing actress (Tomei), and the consequences that arise after they become neighbors.

Marisa Tomei and Liv Tyler will topline indie psychological thriller “10A/10B,” produced and financed through Christopher Mallick’s Oxymoron Entertainment.
South Korean director Chul-soo Park will helm the adapted script of his original 1995 film “301/302.”

Film will explore the relationship and consequences that result when a culinary perfectionist, portrayed by Tyler, and an actress with a failing career, played by Tomei, become neighbors in a loft apartment building.

Mallick and Intl. Production Co.’s Dan Frisch and Philip Waley will produce along with Floyd Byars and Unjoo Byars.

Filming will begin in Los Angeles on June 1.
