The Domain

LivTylerFan.net was purchased through Hosting2go.nl. I really liked the sound of it and its easy to remember, I tried for months (not exagerating) to come up with a really unique a savy name for the site but nothing stuck with me so I decided I was ready to open the site and the domain “LivTylerFan.net” became the offical name of the site. 

Why Liv?

Why not anyone else? She’s GORGEOUS, talented and I adore her. Simple enough right there. I have known about Liv ever since I can remember, but I probably started taking a following to her after Armageddon. I knew who she was but I really started to notice her in her other projects. After I saw her amazing performance on The Lord Of The Rings, I thought she deserved a good up to date fansite. I waited nearly three year after I kept backing out, but I couldn’t wait any longer so I opend the site and thats how the site came to be.

v. 9 “Back in Style”

Description:
This is the first layout that is made with our first CMS and new posting system Wordpress. For a long time me and the other co-webs wanted to use Wordpress, but I thought that it could only be when we also had a nice layout with it. That however took a while, because coding was way different then I used to. This layout represents the summer, fresh, stylish and with Liv now back to work we called it: Back in Style!

v. 8 “Hidden Secrets”

Description:
After a survey among our visitors, they seemed to like a medium coloured layout better than a dark one, that’s why I created this brown layout. One that fits actually every season and that is also a litle mysterious. Liv is coming out of a mirror, together with a piece of parchement. When you hovered with the mouse over it, a small portret with text appeared. The name: Hidden Secrets should be obvious then.

v.7 “Back To Innocence”

Description:
This layout is more a winter/autumn one. Some darker colours and still fresh and colourful. I really wanted something like this for a long time, because I wanted to have a more organic layout. I really like the green with the gold. And after 3 lighter layouts I think this is completely different, like you are on a completely different site. The pictures used are the last shot for Pilgrim jewellery and portray Liv so innocent.

Description:
The last layout was ok, but it was time for a new one. Also in the “August will Change Everything” month, it was time to change the layout. Well, this layout was a lot of work. I really liked the way the title from the site was presented the last time, so I dind’t changed that. Also the colours I thought were fine, did some minor changes nontheless. The layout has the basic idea from the last one with news and all. I added more pics to the front page, also in the news.

v. 5 “Back To Work”

Desription:
I got bored from the last layout, it was a great one, but the colours were not exciting enough, they were actually boring. Let me tell something about this 5th layout. I though that it would be nice to put more infomation on the first page, so that’s why all those specials. On the other hand it couldn’t be very busy, and because I tried since the founding of this site to keep the width of the layout not bigger than 800 pixels, it became a problem. So I decided to make it 1000 pixels! Almost 75% of the visitors has a screen resolution that’s big enough to show it without scrollbars. I like this layout very much, it’s defenitly one that needs often maintanens, what the previous didn’t.

Description:
Like I said with the 3rd layout, next time I make a lighter layout, well I think that I proved with this layout that a light layout also has it’s mysterious ways. I used the new photoshoot from Pilgrim, some amazing photos. I also put for the first time an entrance on the website, I don’t know if I’m going to keep that, maybe I get rid of it some time, but for now I like it that way.
 

v. 3 “Liv on Roses”

Description:
This third layout is very dark, darker than the last one at least. But it’s winter season so I wanted something dark. In spring there will be enough layouts who are lighter.
I was inspired by the ‘Liv Tyler Rose’, so that’s why all those roses. I also wanted to see how far I can go whit this layout and I think that I got pretty far. Almost everyting is Flash, so that was a bit harder to make. Only the image of Liv with all the small rose leafs took more than 7 hours. I made all those little leafs, their path, where to start, end and when to fade. You see a lot of leafs(40), but there are actual 5 different leafs, I turned some around, made them smaller or larger.

v. 2 “Greatest Treasures”

Description:
The second layout, a ‘bit’ darker than the first one, more mysterious and with a few things in it where you can ‘play’ with. The lay is inspired by the ‘head’-image, the ‘mysterious trees’ and is called “Greatest Treasures”, because you can find Arwen between the trees and the little quote in the left says “The Greatest Treasures are those invisible to the eye but found by the heart”

The first layout, I like it for the first one. I also had another head image instead of Liv in black, but I prefer this one. Maybe the other will show up later instead of this.
